Develop and apply analytical, numerical and experimental techniques to solve engineering problems in Thermodynamics, Combustion, Heat and Mass Transfer, and Stress Analysis.

RESEARCH ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

• Developed and validated CFD code to model combustion of solid fuels in a low speed opposing oxidizer flow. Demonstrated accuracy with respect to independent experimental results.
• Derived successful simplified analytical model that accurately predicted experimental results under widely varying conditions.
• Discovered quiescent environment extinction limit, this finding has lead to new Space Shuttle flights to confirm finding.
• Published 5 journal articles and 9 conference articles in the area of Combustion and Heat Transfer.

• 1991-present. Teaching Assistant, SDSU Taught Thermodynamics I Lecture , Fall 1995 and 1996 System administrator for 5 Sun workstations used in CFD research
  
• 1985 -1987 Vickers Inc., Jackson, MS 4 semesters cooperative engineer, one semester each in engineering documentation, engineering test, manufacturing, and design engineering of aerospace hydraulic pump packages
