Jack Hoyt is Emeritus Professor, having taught fluid mechanics courses
for both the Mechanical and Aerospace
Engineering Departments at SDSU from 1981 to 1993. Currently he is
doing research on turbulent boundary layers
and developing a flow tracer under a National Science Foundation Grant.
He is a Research Fellow at the University of
Bristol (U.K.), where the experimental boundary layer work is being
done, and will be Benjamin Meaker Professor
there during Spring term, 1997.
Jack is a Fellow of the ASME, and is very active in the ASME Fluids
Engineering Division. A frequent visitor to the
campus, he still uses his SDSU affiliation at meetings and on his technical
papers. He would be happy to work with
students on fluid mechanics projects.
