Java Applet to calculate flame
spread rate and all intermediate variables. You can select fuel (PMM or
cellulose) conditions (thickness) and oxidizer conditions (oxygen
level, pressure, etc.). Also properties can be altered to see their
effect on flame spread rate, flame temperature, etc. May take a few
moments to download. Java must be turned on in your browser. (Will be
updated before April 15, 2004). |

| 10. | June, 2002 | Flame Tracker Video ( 18 s, 1.35 MByte). The real time video demonstrates feasiblity of converting a spreading flame into a stationary flame. = The motion of the sample holder can be seen from the rotation of the lead screw and the motion of the measuring tape attached to the sample holder. Spread rate 1.8 +-0.17 mm/s; Fuel thickness 0.16 mm; Fuel: ashless filter paper; Ambient conditions 25 deg-C, 755 mm of Hg. | Video PowerPoint Slides |
