                                                                                      Turbine Control Systems:

Continental Controls offers two distinctly different control systems for turbine engines.  One is based on a single board computer with  proprietary architecture and software, with the second being based on a PLC system with easy to use MMI software.  The single board system is the most economical while offering simple "button oriented" control of all engine functions.  The PLC system offer complete sequencing for historical tracking of the last 500 engine events, trending, temperature at each thermocouple and complete control of all aspects of the turbine through a graphical interface.

Both systems are extremely accurate, rugged and reliable especially when used in conjunction with the CCC electronic Fuel Metering Valves.

                                                                                        Fuel Metering Valves:

Continental Controls Corporation is a long time leader in the development of innovative and effective fuel metering valves.  CCC valves are "smart valves" with a microprocessor built into the valve.  The internal microprocessor continuously computes the flow through the valve and adjusts the gas flow very precisely to match the demand from the engine. These valves can handle the most demanding of reciprocating or turbine engine applications.  They are ideal for field retrofit or original equipment installation.  The valves offer very fast response combined with a high turn down ratio  as well as extreme accuracy especially at light off and acceleration fuel flows.  In power generation applications, the ability to respond gracefully to extreme load transients is determined by the response of the valve and the control system.

CCC Valves generally eliminate the need for other equipment including; acceleration limiters, governor valves, associated actuators and hydraulic power supplies.  Because the valves are closed loop on flow they are extremely dirt tolerant and therefore suitable for adverse operating conditions.

                                                                                                      Black Boxes:

More than 25 years ago Continental Controls Corporation was the original manufacturer of the Speed, Temperature, and Main Fuel Actuator Controls (MFAC's) used on the Solar Centaur turbine engines.  Most of these black boxes are still in use today!

The black box has set the standard for reliability by which other turbine control systems are judged. There are over 40,000 black boxes servicing over 10,000 turbines.

CCC offers for sale field test sets for the black boxes as well as a refurbishing program.  While these boxes have proven incredibly reliable, they are safety devices and should be calibrated regularly to insure proper operation.

CCC also tests and refurbishes black boxes.  We will certify that the box works as originally designed and performs according to the manufacturers specifications.
